Carers of all ages across Richmond could be eligible for £250 one off payment which could go to taking time off from looking after a loved one.

The Carers Breaks grants programme, funded by Richmond Council in partnership with NHS Richmond, aims to recognise the vital role carers play in the borough.

It also highlights the need for carers to have time off to look after their own health and wellbeing.

Councillor Nicola Urquhart, Cabinet Member for Adults Services, Health and Housing said: "Priceless' is a word that comes to mind when you think about taking a break to recharge your batteries and take a moment for yourself.

"I am delighted that in these difficult financial times, the Council has been able to find the money to fund these much needed breaks."

To find out if you are eligible for a carers break contact Richmond Carers Centre on telephone 020 8867 2380 or email support@richmondcarers.org.
