Carlisle Park has been given a much need makeover by Richmond Borough Council.

The work was carried out as part of the Parks Improvement Programme which encourages residents to green open spaces.

There's been an upgrade to the facilities to improve accessibility and the overall appearance of the park.

Cllr Virginia Morris, Cabinet Member for Environment said: "The borough's parks and open spaces were highlighted as the most important service to borough residents in the All in One survey in 2011."

"Therefore, as part of our Parks Improvement Programme, we have made improvements to Carlisle Park to enhance the park for all users."

Work began in January and included replacing the fence line at the rear of the bowling green, footpath surfacing around the park to improve access installation of new bins and benches.

The Parks Improvement Programme is a borough wide programme, where £3m is being invested over a 3 year period.
