Flood alerts given across Thames Ditton, Hampton and Teddington
By adam_leone | Thursday, January 31, 2013, 17:39
A high tide is expected to hit Thames Ditton Island this evening and early tomorrow morning.
It's expected the Thames flow will reach up to 5.9 metres in height, with another tide due to hit in the morning.
The river is expected to overtop banks and flood low lying land on the island as a result of both of these tides. Property flooding is not expected.
More scattered showers are due possibly today and tomorrow morning.
Also the Thames passing though Kingston could overtop banks and flood low lying land as a result of the tides.
Water levels on the River Thames remain high and out of banks, especially in the Molesey and Sunbury areas.
River levels remain sensitive to further rainfall forecast over the next few days. Further flooding of low lying land and roads is still expected.
