Richmond council are making appeals to find the Mayoral badge after it was lost in Hampton last month.

The Mayoral badge is a historical icon worn on the Mayoral chains. It was created in 1890 for the then Richmond Borough.

There are other badges, but the Richmond badge is the one most often used by our Mayors.

Following an official Mayoral Engagement at Linden Hall, Hampton on Thursday 25th October, the Mayor travelled to Barnes and the badge appears to have been lost.

It's believed to be near Linden Hall or Barnes Church Street.

It is feared that the badge, fell onto the floor and that subsequently a resident may have found it and has no idea of it's historical and sentimental value to the borough.

It is an oval golden colour medallion with an enamel coating on the front, painted with the Arms. The Council is prepared to consider a reward for its safe return.
