Richmond Council has pledged to spend nearly £900,000 to fix leaky Primary Schools across the borough.

It's all thanks to a £866k maintenance grant from Richmond Council.

Over recent years a number our primary school roofs have experienced leaks and broken guttering and have been temporarily fixed.

It has now been agreed that a review will be carried out of all primary schools and those in most need will be identified for full roof replacements.

Cllr Paul Hodgins, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Schools, said: "At a time when the Council is facing significant reductions in the money that is available to invest in school buildings."

"it is important we focus our investment in the right areas."

"We believe by improving the fabric of our schools we will ensure that pupils throughout the borough will be able to enjoy high quality learning environments."
